Need

Teach us our need of Thee. Show us how dangerous it is to live without the consciousness of Thy Presence. Walk with us as Jesus walked with His two companions to Emmaus.

Life

A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 10:10
Barclay's Daily Study Bible adds,

Jesus claims that he came that men might have life and might have it more abundantly. The Greek phrase used for having it more abundantly means to have a superabundance of a thing. To be a follower of Jesus, to know who he is and what he means, is to have a superabundance of life. A Roman soldier came to Julius Caesar with a request for permission to commit suicide. He was a wretched dispirited creature with no vitality. Caesar looked at him. "Man," he said, "were you ever really alive?" When we try to live our own lives, life is a dull, dispirited thing. When we walk with Jesus, there comes a new vitality, a superabundance of life. It is only when we live with Christ that life becomes really worth living and we begin to live in the real sense of the word.

Love

Jesus Loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are week but He is strong

Yes Jesus does really love me...

Story

Story is also were we find ourselves and, every so often God. It is where God hints at himself and invites us to see what can't be clearly seen- that He exists and intends to reward those who earnestly seek him.

Children

His Child

1 John 3
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be
called children of God!

Yes, what love is this that would care for as children? Children are cared for
by parents that know the big picture, children don’t know what will come or
have the experiences in life to make informed decisions.

I will leave all the important decisions to Him and will unfortunately make
wrong decisions on my own but my Father will watch and not let me stray to far
because my Father loves me and I love my Father.

I will ask for a ride to the next destination, I will ask my Father for
breakfast, I will wait for my Father to play with me, I will hold up my hands
and my Father will lift me up to ride on His shoulders.

And we will dance together.

Zephaniah 3:17

17 The LORD your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Hours

O Gracious God, our Father in Heaven, we bless Thee that hour by hour our lives have been enriched with the knowledge of Him who graciously interperted the Infininite to our finite minds, and Who in reconciling love and saving mercy, brought us near to our Father in Heaven.

Feast

The most extravagant feast is spread before us, don’t eat and pay the price.

Psalm 102:4
4 My heart is blighted and withered like grass;
I forget to eat my food.

A daily portion of food from heaven is the quickest cure for a hurting heart.

Job 33:20
20 so that his very being finds food repulsive
and his soul loathes the choicest meal.

He longs to give us the most incredible feast possible, one that never ends. We
are not worthy of the scraps from His table yet He beckons us on to the
banquet.

We are to busy cooking our own Kraft Dinner to see the unbelievable buffet set
before us. Eventually the Kraft Dinner just won’t cut it anymore. And…

Psalm 107:18-20
18 They loathed all food
and drew near the gates of death.

19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.

20 He sent forth his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.

We don’t need to go to the depths of despair before we belly up to the feast.

Ask

Matthew 6
11'Give us this day our daily bread.

We just need to ask for his daily bread, He’ll not turn a deaf ear.

Matthew 7:9
"Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give
him a stone?

John 5:24
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent
Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of
death into life.

It’s all so simple, we just try to complicate things and in our complication we
think we’ve hit on the jackpot or the mother load when we figure out how to
make our Kraft Dinner cheesier.

May His word fill you everyday, every moment, may you lack for nothing.

Love is Enough,

Daniel

Hallelujah

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Rest

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him
Psalm 37:7

The Hebrew word Shabbat comes from the Hebrew verb shabat, which literally means "to cease", or shev which means "sit". Although Shabbat or its anglicized version "Sabbath" is almost universally translated as "rest" or a "period of rest", a more literal translation would be "ceasing", with the implication of "ceasing from work". Thus, Shabbat is the day of ceasing from work (definition from wikipidea)

In the Jewish culture today is the day of rest…the Shabbat is the day of celebration and prayer…

Rest and wait….in Him

Storms

“It’s all right” He said. “I am here! Don’t be afraid”. Then He climbed in the boat, and the wind stopped. They were astonished at what they saw. Mark 7:50,51

Ah yes…the storms of life…the revealing thing is that Jesus is here..and, he is willing to get in the boat with us…and yes, the wind will stop…and, we will be astonished…

Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father*; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

I believe in one holy catholic** and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

Stillness

Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

We live in a very noisy world..ironically, it is in not doing that we come into a deeper sense of who God is...so much of our life is based upon doing..this seems counterintuitive..yet we know it is true...it is in stillness that God is exalted...in our lives and, in our part of the "world" that we occupy..

Be still ...it is the whisper of God to you...His gentle breath upon you

Forgiveness

In any belief system related to Christianity, a person who feels guilt must learn to accept forgiveness, if not from the person wronged (from whom forgiveness can never be demanded), then at least from God, who is believed to be ready to forgive anyone who truthfully repents. To hang on to ones’s fault, once it has been revealed, forgiven, and amends for it made- to refuse to move on-is to fall into shame, the opposite of guilt and forgiveness. For it means believing that one’s very self has been diminished (a rejection of God’s love and forgiveness)

Bread for Everyday

John 6:35
35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

Bread we use as nourishment but Jesus tells us He is our provision.

1 Thessalonians 4:9
9 Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

It's where we find the very things we can't find anywhere else.

It's God who will show us, it God through His Son, Jesus that will provide. It's through him where will find the very essences of life. Every Day, Continuously.

1 John 2:27

27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

It's through His word and not by this teacher or that evangelist or this preacher or the latest book that we will be satisfied, come into perfect knowledge.

Through eating His word continuously, we will be filled.

John 1

The Deity of Jesus Christ
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

How can you go wrong, through man's word you may not be assured that the view or thought is God breathed but Word from God is infallible. You can depend on it. People will eventually let you down; God will never let you down.

God's Word is perfect.

Love is Enough,

Daniel

Trust

Trust says the crumpled green license plate that hangs in my office. Trust what? Trust that it is worth scratching on the wall that God is Love and Life because, all appearances to the contrary notwithstanding, it may just be true. Trust that if God is anywhere, God is here, which means that there is no telling where God may turn up next-around what sudden bend of the path if you happen to have you’re eyes and ears open, your wits about you, in what odd, small moments almost too foolish to tell. If God is ever, God is now, in the in and out of breathing, the sound of the footstep on the stair, the smell of the rain, the touch of a hand on your bare shoulder where you kneel at the door. If God lives and loves, as the hay shed proclaimed, it is in ourselves no less than everywhere else, in the godless no less than the godliest, in the dead no less than the living, because the end of a life is no more likely to be the end of God's love that keeps it alive than it is of our love that keeps it living part of ourselves.

Fredrick Buechner "The Eyes of the Heart"

In what area can you trust God for, today?

Where in the past has this trust been rewarded?
